Hi all,

As the title mentions, we have a new file release uploaded, 0.05.

This update includes all the changes that we have posted about recently, of course not the UI Tabbar though.

The SVN has been a hive of activity recently, so to be on the cutting-edge of Word-Up download the source from the SVN today.

Now you can get instant help for WordUp! Just click in the “Search Help…” box at the top right corner and type your query. It will take you to the exact article in the wiki, or to search results if your query isn’t matched. Due to the limited number of wiki articles only a few work. (Such as “Center Text“.)

Please note that this feature is only available by building SVN source code.

I (the original author of WordUp) am going to be doing work on WordUp, I’ve seen a few great things added and want to expand on that, so you can expect a few updates and bug fixes.

We have rebuilt the developers numbers, so now we can concentrate on the real task, creating WordUp!

We have had multiple new uploads to the SVN, so expect a new file release soon!

Thanks to everyone who contacted me about the project, as we now have more people working on the project.

I have been away recently, so no progress has been made, but it is coming back, so expect progress soon!

The WordUp project is curerently running well, however, we are running low on devs, as two have left and I’m waiting on a answers from the others, who I suspect have left.

Therefore, the point of this message is to all those that can even slightly program in VB.Net, we need you! Even if your just learning, use this as a learning tool and contribute back when you can!

If you are intrested, check the Jobs section, as it has a listing of ours, or contact me:

Thanks All, and I hope to see you on the project soon…

Ok, first, hi everybody! The reins of WordUp have changed hands as its orginal creator, Zach, has moved on to bigger and better things. (Writing his own OS!!)

Ok, now for the latest project news. We have updated the source, and have re-enabled the SVN, with the latest build. The downloads page hasn’t been updated yet, but it will be updated when somebody has the time to upload it. The project has been updated, with many more functions loaded, and other general updates.

In reference to the ‘TabBar’ control, it has been decided that it will not be included untill at least the 1.0 release, and it will be optional(most likely).

Anyway, thanks for for continued support, and we will bring new updates asap…

WordUp 0.04 source will be released this coming week, the main change being an update in UI, as well as a few other features. There will be little other functionality too. Also it has been confirmed building WordUp will only work on Visual Studio 2008 or later, including the Express Editions. In any case, we recommend getting the latest versions of everything for working on your project - WordUp is targeting the Windows XP and Vista platforms, .NET framework 3.5 SP1, to ensure stability and security. Drop us a line if you have a suggestion or problem, we’d be glad to help.

WordUp has officially have had 100 downloads as of today according to SourceForge’s statistics. We totalled about 170 MB, so that shows that on average WordUp is about 1.5 mb. We are working hard on the next source release, sheduled for late October, that should bring an updated UI and some more features, as you can see development is kind of slow at the moment, but we’ll bring a good release by June, count on it!
